Overview
Introduction
The seafront Sandy Ground Village is the launching point for many of Anguilla's boat races and has some interesting architecture and history.
On the main road, for example, is the Old Manse, a photogenic, three-gabled house that dates from the early 1900s.
Of similar age is the White House by Sandy Ground Salt Pond, an example of vernacular architecture with a cut-stone foundation, pitched roof and decorative railings and fretwork.
Sandy Ground is home to the historic Old Salt Factory and Pumphouse, and it also has a number of restaurants and bars, including Johnno's Beach Stop.
