Overview
Introduction
Calvi is a small port town located on a large bay on the northwest coast of Corsica. The town's sandy beaches are increasingly popular with tourists, and the area is becoming a vivacious holiday resort town. If you're looking for a hike while you're there, visit the citadel that perches on the hilltop overlooking the city.
Once a day, a small train runs between Calvi to Ajaccio, Corsica's largest coastal city.
Location
Ships usually anchor in the bay and tender passengers to Quai Landry, where visitors will find numerous cafes overlooking the water. The town is easily explored on foot—the new part of town is closer to the water, while the old town is up the hill by the citadel.
