The bus routes that depart from Denver and the front range are recommended. Only 30 mi/50 km west of Denver, a highway from Interstate 70 has made driving fairly easy, but parking spaces in town can be difficult to find, and parking tickets are expensive. The winding canyon roads to Black Hawk can also be difficult to navigate if weather turns rough.
If you choose to drive, however, take I-70 west to Exit 243 onto Central City Parkway.
