Discover Norway’s capital, Oslo, by land and sea with two informative and scenic Oslo tours. Begin with a comprehensive guided coach tour of Oslo’s highlights, including the grand Royal Palace, the medieval Akershus Castle and Fortress, and enjoy spectacular views from Holmenkollen Hill, home of the 1952 Winter Olympics Holmenkollen Ski Jump. Continue to the Gustav Vigeland Sculpture Park and explore the over 200 bronze and granite sculptures as you gain fascinating insights into Norway’s most prolific sculptor. Continue your Oslo discovery on a city cruise, passing through narrow sounds, idyllic bays, and through a maze of islands adorned with small summer houses. Pass by the Oslo Opera House and the Bygdoy peninsula before sailing by the impressive Maritime and Fram museums, hosting veteran sailing ships and the Fram polar ship.
Embark on a rail journey from the Oslo Railway Station to Myrdal on the world-renowned Flam Railway, recognized as one of the world’s most beautiful train journeys. Travel through some of Norway’s most stunning landscapes, including steep mountains, lush fjords, spectacular waterfalls, and snow-covered mountains. Board a hydrofoil upon arrival in Flam and travel across the Sognefjord to the village of Balestrand, where you’ll spend a night at the grand 18th-century waterfront Kviknes Hotel, offering incredible views of the Sognjeford.
Explore Balestrand’s breathtaking nature and city centre before taking the old road along the fjord’s edge, passing several 1800s villas before continuing your journey to Bergen by boat. Your scenic Sognefjord cruise takes you past several villages along the fjord before arriving in Bergen, where you’ll enjoy a full day of leisure with the potential of booking a private walking or a hop-on-hop-off bus tour of Norway’s second-largest city.
