The Sandals Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Sandals Resorts International, hosted a sold out crowd of over 600 guests on Saturday, November 6, 2024 at Sandals Royal Bahamian Spa Resort & Offshore Island for an evening of warm sand, ocean surf and good music under the stars with Grammy® award-winning artist SHAGGY – all while supporting a great cause!
The island party, aptly entitled “Vibes on the Island,” was presented by the Sandals Foundation, The Coca-Cola Company and Caribbean Bottling Company Bahamas. Guests were invited to “Get their Vibe On” and were treated to an extravaganza on Sandals Island, Sandals Royal Bahamian’s private offshore island, which featured delicious food, unlimited premium brand spirits and lively entertainment including a local performance by The Royal Bahamas Police Force Pop Band. But the real highlight of the night was a private concert by one of Jamaica’s most popular reggae artists, Mr. Boombastic himself, Shaggy!
Other key sponsors of the evening included: Sandals Resorts International, Columbian Emeralds International, CIBC First Caribbean International Bank, Flight Centre Canada, Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum, Caribbean Producers Jamaica, EcoLab, Sysco of Miami and Sysco Bahamas Food Services and The Nassau Guardian Limited.
The fundraiser was in aid of the P.A.C.E. (Providing Access to Continued Education) Foundation, which provides education and support to teenage mothers and promotes awareness to help reduce teen pregnancy among young adults in The Bahamas. All proceeds from the event will go to benefit the refurbishment of a first-of-its-kind support center that will ensure these young mothers are provided with a resource that accommodates administrative, health care, nursery and academic services.
