If you want to enjoy golf in the Caribbean inclusive of challenging elevations, captivating fairways, and even cozy golf clubs, you should definitely give Saint Lucia some consideration.

Saint Lucia Pitons Overview

There is soon to be a third golf course in Saint Lucia, which we'll share more information on.

For now, here's everything you need to know about the best golf courses in Saint Lucia!

1. Sandals St. Lucia Golf & Country Club at Cap Estate (18-hole course)

The Sandals St. Lucia Golf & Country Club boasts an 18-hole golf course that is one of the most popular on the island. This golf course is located in Cap Estate, a scenic and serene area in the north of Saint Lucia. A par 71 championship course, the Sandals St. Lucia Golf & Country Club course was redesigned in collaboration with Australian golf legend Greg Norman and was reopened in 2021.

Sandals La Toc Golf Club Saint Lucia

This picturesque golf course is well maintained and reasonably challenging. It spans 7,000+ yards and allows players to experience the most stunning views and exciting elevation changes. One of the perks of this location is that there is a golf clubhouse on-site with a restaurant, pub, pro shop, and locker rooms. As a guest of any of the Sandals all-inclusive resorts in Saint Lucia, you will have full access to this golf course and the clubhouse during your stay. Plus, your green fees will be completely free! Non-Sandals guests can expect green fees of about $125 USD for 9 holes, and $175 USD for 18 holes.

There are a few other expenses to think about when golfing on this (and really any other) course. You should factor in the cost of golf carts, caddies, and shoe and club rentals (if you don't bring your own). At the Sandals St. Lucia Golf & Country Club, golf carts cost around $20 USD for 9 holes and $30 USD for 18 holes. There's also a driving range that is open seven days a week ($4 USD for 40 balls), and golf lessons are available via the golf pro shop for an additional cost.

Good to know: Aside from the driving range, the Sandals St. Lucia Golf & Country Club is closed on Mondays.

2. Sandals Regency La Toc (9-hole course)

The Sandals Regency La Toc golf course is a 9-hole course that is minutes away from Castries, Saint Lucia. From the northern areas of the island, specifically Gros Islet and Rodney Bay, it takes just about 30 minutes to get to this course located on the property of Sandals Regency La Toc. This golf course includes a driving range, putting green, and chipping green.

Saint Lucia Golf Course Aerial

As you tee off on this tropical golf course, you won't be able to keep from admiring the lush surrounding greenery and the rugged hillsides. The Sandals Regency La Toc golf course is about 3141 yards, and it is a par 33 executive-style course. Many describe this as a challenging golf course that is fun at the same time. The breathtaking views definitely take away some of the seriousness of the game, but you'll certainly need extreme focus at some points for the sake of accuracy. Both beginners and more experienced golfers will love how engaging this golf course is and how pristine it is overall.

Sandals Resorts guests have full access to the Sandals Regency La Toc golf course during their stay. By staying at Sandals in Saint Lucia, you'll also benefit from complimentary green fees (regular cost: $17 USD for 18 holes, and $10 USD for 9 holes), and free transportation between this course and Sandals St. Lucia Golf & Country Club. Free transportation is also provided between the Sandals Regency La Toc golf course and the various Sandals Resorts in Saint Lucia.

Good to know: The Sandals Regency La Toc golf course is open daily.

3. Coming Soon: Cabot Saint Lucia (18-hole course)

Cabot Saint Lucia is set to open a new golf course in Saint Lucia towards the end of 2022. This is expected to be an 18-hole course, and it will be located at Pointe Hardy in Gros Islet. Designed by renowned golf course architects Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, in collaboration with Cabot co-founder Ben Cowan-Dewar, this course will add to Saint Lucia's offerings on the golf scene. Cabot's course is a par 71 course that spans 6,575 yards.

Golf Green Putt

Ahead of Cabot's golf course being opened, small details have been announced. For example, golfers can expect the sort of stunning views that Saint Lucian golf courses are known for, as well as just the right dose of island challenge. Ocean views might be a possibility here, and players will have access to a clubhouse and other amenities.

Details on green fees and other pricing for this golf course have not yet been announced.

Hike Pigeon Island

Pigeon Island is located in the north of Saint Lucia. This is a must-visit attraction if you're looking for a place to relax and reconnect with nature. There's a national park on Pigeon Island that is loved for its gorgeous scenery, including coastal views, old forts, and wide grassy areas that are ideal for a hike and picnic. You'll need to pay an entrance fee of $6-8 USD to get into the park.

While at the Pigeon Island national park, there are a number of activities you can get into including hiking, snorkeling, SNUBA, dining, and exploring. At the highest elevation in this park, you'll find 18th-century military ruins and 360° views of the island. These old ruins are the remains of Fort Rodney, a structure that played a significant role in the wars of Saint Lucia's past. If you plan on hiking at Pigeon Island, bring comfortable shoes and expect a moderately challenging hike.

Expert tip: If you're up for the challenge, you can try some of the best places to hike in Saint Lucia, which will help you get to know this island in a more intimate way.

Snorkel Saint Lucia's many coral reefs

You'll hardly be able to resist a snorkeling session in the crystal-clear waters of Saint Lucia, which is known for great snorkeling and scuba diving. If you plan on snorkeling during your golf vacation, you'll have lots of dive sites to choose from in areas like Pigeon Island, Rodney Bay, and Marigot Bay in the north. Southern dive sites include Anse Chastanet Beach, Anse Des Pitons (Sugar Beach), and Anse Cochon Beach.

Speaking of the south, that is where you'll find the best places to snorkel in Saint Lucia as most of the island's reefs are located there. Even with that said, no matter where you choose to dive on this island, you're bound to have a magical experience. Sightings in Saint Lucia during a snorkeling expedition include coral of all varieties, sea life such as squid, sea turtles, eels, and of course an abundance of tropical fish!

Experience the Sulphur Springs

If you're in Saint Lucia for a golf adventure, it could also be an ideal time to take part in some of the best things to do in Saint Lucia, like visiting one of the island's most popular attractions - the Sulphur Springs. Located in the southern town of Soufriere, the Sulphur Springs in Saint Lucia is credited for being the world's only drive-in volcano where you can have a natural, DIY spa experience.

The volcano at the Sulphur Springs is dormant, but once you arrive, you'll notice steam emitting from the crater. Once inside the volcano, you sure won't miss the sulphuric steam smell, which is reminiscent of rotten eggs! Don't worry: this won't dampen your experience in the slightest as you explore the Sulphur Springs area via a guided tour, bathe in the mud baths, and even take a dip in the rejuvenating hot springs.

Expert tip: Want some more fun in the south of Saint Lucia? Try the Gros Piton Hike, one of the most popular things to do on this island. Read our post on the Pitons in Saint Lucia before you go so you're well prepared for this experience!
