The smallest of Kenya's national parks, Saiwa Swamp is less than 1 sq mi/2 sq km. Located 225 mi/360 km northwest of Nairobi, this park was created specifically to protect the rare sitatunga antelope, a shy and unusual animal that lives in swamps and, when threatened, will submerge itself beneath the water to hide.
