Nearby Piti (to the south) was bombed by the Japanese in 1941, at the same time as Pearl Harbor. The Fish Eye Marine Park, popular with divers, is also known as the Piti "bomb holes." However, they are really natural sinkholes. Visit the undersea observatory there, as well as the island gift shop with unique Micronesian crafts and a free undersea photo gallery. Also nearby are the Piti guns, which once formed part of the Japanese coastal defenses. Asan is 2 mi/3 km west of Hagatna.
