Nestled in the desirable neighbourhood of Wildhorse, Palomino Chalet offers five cosy bedrooms for up to ten guests. Contemporary interiors and a modern take on the classic Colorado floor-to-ceiling window make this elegant chalet a light, bright and airy space. A neutral colour palette allows the splendour of the mountain views to take centre stage. You’re just a short stroll from the Wildhorse gondola for quick and easy access to Steamboat Square and the base area.
Steamboat Springs takes its name from the sound of a paddleboat the old miners thought they could hear as they dug for gold and silver. Famous for its hot springs and some seriously good blue and black ski runs, the town is now one of the USA's most popular winter sports destinations. Try coming here in the summer too, when you'll find festivals galore, hundreds of miles of spectacular mountain hiking trails, and a wealth of boutique shopping and restaurants serving gourmet food. No matter what time of the year you visit, one thing is constant: the breathtaking mountain scenery.
Step into the Great Room at Palomino Chalet, and you're welcomed with a flickering gas feature fireplace, plush furniture, and those mesmerising mountain views. With an open-plan layout to the dining area and a fully-equipped kitchen, this is a space that encourages conversation even when the designated chef is rustling up some hot chocolates and S'mores for the younger guests. An eight-seat dining table is ideal for winter meals - or step outside onto the side deck or front patio for al fresco dining. A private office with its own bathroom is a welcome retreat if you have to answer those emails.
The upper level is home to the king-size master suite. A private deck, exceptional views of the gondola and the mountains beyond, and an opulent ensuite complete with spa fixtures make it an exceptional suite indeed. On the lower level, you'll find a comfortable family room, as well as the three remaining bedrooms. These consist of two spacious king-size bedrooms and a bunk room for the younger guests with two twin-over-twin bunks and two twin trundles.
Take a stroll down a private path from the main deck, and you'll discover your very own hot tub - just the spot to soothe those tired muscles at the end of the day. Guests at Palomino Chalet also have use of a wet bar and outdoor sitting area, complete with a BBQ grill. As the stars emerge, raise a glass to the majesty of the mountains and start planning the next day's adventures at Palomino Chalet.
