Montagne d'Ambre National Park is one of the most visited attractions in Madagascar. Located in the northern region, 620 mi/1,000 km northeast of Antananarivo, it contains more than 12 mi/20 km of trails for self-guided hikes. With more than 70 species of birds found in the park, including the unique Amber mountain rock-thrush, it is also a great place for bird-watching. The park is the refuge of the reddish mouse lemur, one of the smallest lemurs in the world, and of Calumma crypticum, one of the smallest chameleons that exists.
