Classified as a National Park there is a diversity of recreational activities available, including walking trails, first-class fishing, golfing, hiking and cross country skiing. The Island's landscape is beautiful and encompasses areas of coniferious and mixed forests, limestone cliffs and silica sand beaches, as well as marshes, bogs, fens and mixed meadows. The flora allows for a number of birds to make the Island their home and bird watchers will see ravens, Canada Geese, canada Jays, Magpies, and many other species.
