Dubbed the Biggest Little City in the World, Reno is located at the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in northwestern Nevada on the border of California. From October to May, the average high temperature is 57° F and the average low temperature is 35° F. From June to September, the average high temperature is 86° F and the average low is 53° F.
Combining urban living with Old West charm, Reno offers something for everyone. Casino gambling and the big-name entertainment shows that go along with it (both far less extensive than in Las Vegas, which lies 340 mi/545 km southeast) are popular, but there are 15 ski resorts, Lake Tahoe, Carson City and several other diverse options all within an hour's drive of the city.
