Charlevoix, Quebec, is a region that is know for providing inspiration and enjoyment to artists and visitors alike due to its majestic landscape. Breathtaking views abound due to the rolling terrain, fjords, bays and headlands of the region. This vast territory located in the Canadian Shield includes the Laurentian Mountains, St. Lawrence River and Saguenay. Six species of migratory whales may even be found at the junction of the Saguenay and St. Lawrence Rivers. Charlevoix is a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, due to the meteorite that fell onto the region millions of years ago. Numerous activities are offered at the National Parks and other sites, such as fishing, hiking, cycling, canoeing, and skiing is also a main attraction. Charlevoix also offers its visitors gourmet dining opportunities from its quality local products, as well as arts and cultural opportunities to add to its charm and enjoyment.
