Description:

Venture just 3.5-hours outside of bustling San Francisco and explore the 1,170 square miles (3030 sq km) of natural splendor that fills Yosemite National Park. This full-day tour journeys through the tranquil forest, diverse wildlife, and pristine waterfalls encompassed by this landmark, nationally protected expanse.

After being picked up from your hotel, board a comfortable double-decker bus then sit back and take a break as you head north from San Francisco over the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. Journey through the Sierra Nevada mountain range and listen as your fun and knowledgeable tour guide describes the region's history and points out different landmarks and geographical highlights.

After a short stop for refreshments in the Central Valley, arrive in stunning Yosemite Valley, a designed World Heritage Site. Enjoy a full 2.5 hours to explore the park on your own. Hike through the towering sequoias, bike along thundering waterfalls, or marvel at the park's granite cliffs and glacier-carved grandeur—Half Dome's iconic, rounded peak and the towering monolith of El Capitan both frame the valley. As you visit, keep your eyes peeled for mule deer and coyotes in the brush.

Enjoy lunch in this pristine setting and learn about the history of the Park—Abraham Lincoln signed the original grant, and noted outdoorsman John Muir led a successful push to extend the park's boundaries—before your return trip to the city.
