Vail boasts 193 runs leading down to 4 distinct bases, all connected by complimentary shuttle buses and heated walkways. Approximately 18% of the terrain is classified as beginner, 29% as intermediate, 25% as advanced, and 28% appeals to expert skiers. Vail runs 31 lifts—including 2 gondolas, 1 high-speed 6 pack, and 17 high-speed quads—to whisk skiers and riders up to the summit, where you can access the famous 7 back bowls or head to Blue Sky Basin for a backcountry experience. The top of the hill rises to a soaring 11,570 feet (3,526 m), but visitors less interested in the mountain's 3,450-foot (1,051 m) vertical drop can head to any of 3 terrain parks to work on their tricks and rails.
