Description:
See, hear, and learn the grandeur of the Outback and its storied role in Australia's history and culture. This 3-day tour takes you to some of the most striking landmarks on the continent and exposes you to the culture that flourished amid these incredible surroundings.
Day 1:
Dine under the stars with the Sounds of Silence dinner, a gourmet buffet of local delicacies accompanied by fine Australian wines. Afterward, take a break and watch the sky as an astronomer takes you on a tour of the southern night, and admire sights you can never see north of the equator.
Day 2:
Rise early for a visit to the Uluru sunrise viewing area, Talinguru Nyakunytjaku, and watch the first rays of dawn set the Red Centre alight. After a tour around the base of Uluru, visit the charming Mutitjulu Waterhole to see Aboriginal rock paintings and learn about the area's native and European history. Next, visit the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre, which features a showcase of Aboriginal arts and crafts.
In the afternoon, visit the 36 domed rock formations of Kata Tjuta and explore Walpa Gorge, which takes you between two of the tallest domes. In the late afternoon, travel to the Uluru sunset viewing area to see the striking colors of Uluru at sunset.
Day 3:
Make your way to the Town Centre, where you can join a local Aboriginal artist for a fun introduction to Western Desert Art. An Anangu artist is on hand to help you produce your own painting, which you can take home as a memento of your experience. In the afternoon, a transfer takes you from your hotel to Ayers Rock Airport for your onward flight.
