Description:
Visit sacred sites in Australia's Red Centre with a 3-day tour to explore the larger-than-life scenery that defines the Outback. From the sandstone walls of Mt. Conner to Uluru and Kata Tjuta, the grand scenery, cultural heritage, and rich history of the region offers you a spectacular experience.
Day 1:
Begin your tour with a ride through the West MacDonnell and James Ranges. Visit a camel farm, where you can take a ride on one of the creatures for an extra charge, and view majestic Mt. Conner before you arrive at Ayers Rock Resort.
In the afternoon. the tour brings you to Kata Tjuta, where your guide explains the geological history of these giant domed rock formations. A guided walk takes you through the valley between the massive red conglomerate rocks, and you can admire a magnificent Outback sunset while you enjoy a glass of sparkling wine.
Day 2:
Your second day brings you to Kings Canyon, with a stop for breakfast at Kings Creek Station along the way. From here, you can either make the rocky climb to the rim of the canyon for marvelous views of Watarrka National Park or explore the boulder-strewn canyon floor. In the afternoon, make your way back to Ayers Rock Resort.
Day 3:
Rise early this morning for a visit to Talinguru Nyakunytjaku, the Uluru sunrise viewing area. After watching the first rays of the sun set the Red Centre alight, join your AAT Kings Driver Guide for a tour around the base of Uluru.
Next, pay a visit to the charming Mutitjulu Waterhole, where you can view Aboriginal rock paintings and learn about the area, and stop in at the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre, where you can learn about Aboriginal culture and see Aboriginal arts and crafts.
In the afternoon, you will be transferred to Ayers Rock Airport for your flight as the tour comes to an end.
