Description:
Spend a day swirling, sniffing, and sipping fine Northern California wines with a private excursion to charming Sonoma.
Nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the Mayacamas Mountains, the scenery of Sonoma County is as spectacular as its wines. We’ll spend the day enjoying vistas of rolling hills and placid vineyards as we visit four to five of our favorite wineries in the region.
One of the defining features of the Sonoma County Wine Region is its variety. There are 16 distinct American Viticultural Areas in the county, growing more than 50 types of grapes, the most common being Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. You’ll sample a range of wines as your expert Escape Artist guide explains how climate and soil conditions, known in the wine world as terroir, produce distinct and delicious varietals.
On the tour you’ll also learn tasting techniques used by sommeliers and wine aficionados to identify the characteristics of a wine and heighten the tasting experience. You’ll meet winemakers and enthusiasts and compare notes to hone in on your preferred vineyards and varietals.
A local, seasonal lunch is included in the tour. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated with advance notice.
