Description:

Discover the rich heritage of Seoul at charming Buddhist temple Jogyesa, within charming palaces of empires past, and at craft stalls along Insadong-gil. Explore the country’s history at the National Folk Museum of Korea, and browse the largest traditional Korean market.

After your hotel pickup, head toward the center of the Joyge Order of Korean Buddhism—Jogyesa. Marvel at the grandeur of the Gyeongbokgung palace, built during the Joseon Dynasty and home to a grand 75.5-foot (23-m) stone Matrieya Buddha. Continue to learn about Korean history at the National Folk Musuem of korea, with greater than 4,000 artifacts on display.

Stop by at a local restaurant and savor a delicious and authentic Korean meal before strolling through the charming gardens of the Changdeokgung palace. Learn about the medicinal properties of the ginseng plant at the Ganghwa Ginseng Center, glimpse at sparkling gems in the Amethyst Center, and peruse the many stalls brimming with arts and crafts that line the street of Insadong-gil.

Amble along the elegant stone-wall road at the Deoksugung palace, and finish your city tour at the traditional Namdaemun Market, a bazaar that dates back to the early 14th century. Pick up some souvenirs before heading back to your hotel for some well-deserved rest.
