Description:

Hop on an ATV and explore “old Hawaii,” a valley with serene views of massive Eucalyptus tree canopies, a mile-wide black-sand beach, and the 1,200-foot (366 m) twin Hi'ilawe Falls. This tour guides you through off-road trails, beachfront lookouts, and an unforgettable waterfall swim.

After experienced guides brief you on the ATV's operation logistics and safety, feel the satisfaction of piloting an ATV, with no prior experience necessary. Take a deep breath of the sweet eucalyptus tree aroma as you romp through shallow riverbeds and muddy trails. History comes to life as you hear stories of this once sacred and royal land, home to Native Hawaiian Kings.

Arrive at the Hi'ilawe Falls, Hawaii's tallest single-fall waterfall, and take a dip in the refreshing waterfall pool. Be sure to keep an eye out for exotic wildlife such as wild boar, tropical birds, and curious mongoose. Continue on the rugged trails of Waipi'o Valley and stop at a landing area overlooking the lush, 2,000-foot (609 m) deep valley. Take a rest on the available picnic tables with light snacks and beverages.

This 3-hour tour introduces the charming countryside once inhabited by 50 generations of Native Hawaiians, leaving you with a lasting impression of the Big Island's untouched aina (land).

Know before you book: You must be 16 or older to drive an ATV., Children 5–15 years old must ride in a Ranger buggy with a parent/guardian., Children 4 and younger are not allowed., You must weigh between 100 and 350 pounds (45–158kg)., If you have back, neck, lower back, joint, or muscular problems you should carefully consider whether to participate., If you have limited mobility you should not take part., Check-in is 30 minutes prior to booked tour start time.
