For Segway rookies, your day starts with a brief lesson to get you comfortable with the simple controls of your futuristic ride. When you've mastered leaning turns and graceful stops, follow the sound of crashing waves to reach the oceanfront lanes of La Jolla.

Roll by the dripping walls of Sunny Jim's cave, where a boardwalk leads guests through the rock and out over the ocean.
