Head for the protected waters of Mission Bay, a 4,235-acre (1714-ha) aquatic sprawl of resort-filled islands, hidden coves, and picturesque beaches. Meet up with your guide and captain and step aboard a 22-foot (7-m) electric boat to find a cushioned seat in the comfortable interior.

Cruise between crisscrossing sailboats and buzzing jet skis as you seek out the quiet corners of this expansive marine park. As you ride, grab a glass of crisp chardonnay, cabernet sauvignon, or something bubbly to celebrate, like prosecco. To go with your vino, enjoy small bites from a selection of artisanal meats and cheeses or a vegetarian cheese platter with accompaniments like hummus, ciabatta, and wildflower honey.
