Description:

Experience a memorable and pulse-pounding experience by sledging down Rotorua's famous Kaituna River. Power yourself downstream through steep gorges and past spectacular landscapes for a day full of adventure on the rapids.

Be picked up from the comfort of your hotel and journey from Rotorua to the base of Kaituna River. Upon arrival, meet your professional guide and go through the basics of sledging, also known as riverboarding, with a safety and instructions briefing.

Next, travel to the lower part of the Kaituna River to start your sledging adventure. Along the way, enjoy the scenery, explore the history of this lake-fed river and marvel at the panoramic views of Kaituna Falls.

Once on the water, listen to your safety instructions one more time before the sledging begins. Then plunge into the rapids, using your flippers to control your purpose-built sledge.

Feel the adrenaline rush as you slide down the river and the refreshing water splashes in your face. Look up and keep kicking with your fins as you push toward the finish line. Along the way, your guide encourages and motivates you, offering help where necessary.
