Description:
Escape to the incredible Galápagos Islands on this 5-day adventure. Get a sense of the incomparable nature of the famed ecosystem as you get a look at the giant tortoise, marine iguanas, sea lions at La Loberia, and the islands' impressive views.
Day 1
After landing at Seymour Airport, a local guide greets you and points you to the ferry transfer to the Island of Santa Cruz. Stop by a turtle reserve and fascinating lava tunnels on the way to your Puerto Ayora hotel. Next, words escape you as you see a giant tortoise at the Charles Darwin Research Station. Here, learn about the island's vast range of species, conservation programs, and the theory of evolution.
Day 2
Your day starts with breakfast at the hotel before a 40-minute walk to the white-sand Tortuga Bay Beach, an exotic home to marine iguanas. During your leisure time, enjoy a rejuvenating swim in the crystal-clear waters of the nearby Mansa beach, followed by lunch on your own.
Next, cruise on a yacht to La Loberia beach and spot the charming sea lions that frequent the area. Make sure to join the ensuing snorkeling adventure before you head to the Canal del Amor and then stop at a viewpoint to observe reef sharks. The day concludes with a visit to Punta Estrada and the marine iguana-inhabited Playa de los Perros.
Day 3 and Day 4
Following breakfast at the hotel on day 3 and day 4, embark on a full-day yacht tour—including lunch—to one of the following islands: Plazas, Seymour, Bartolomé, and Santa Fe. The itinerary is subject to change based on weather conditions, logistics, and days of operation.
Day 5
After breakfast at your hotel, visit a coffee plantation—part of social responsibility program involving soil conservation and a model of sustainable tourism—and then head to the airport.
