Your take a breaking journey to Chantilly takes around an hour from central Paris through the suburbs and into the verdant Picardy countryside. Spend your morning on an independent visit to the fascinating Living Museum of the Horse, housed within the Great Stables (Grandes Écuries).

Gaze out over the extensive Chantilly Racecourse and learn about how, according to legend, Louis Henri, Prince of Condé asked his architect to build the magnificent stables in 1719 because he believed that he would be reincarnated as a horse after his death. Watch in awe at the live dressage demonstration and see the graceful horses in their daily haute école training, the highest level of equestrian training in France.
