Description:

Explore the weaving vineyards of the Burgundy region and the historic town of Vezelay on this tour from Paris. Stroll around the lush Burgundy countryside, visit a renowned winery, and see a cathedral from the Middle Ages—all just a few hours’ drive from the French capital city.

Meet at Galeries Lafayette and hop into your coach with your guide and Japanese-speaking assistant guide. Just a short ride away is the region of Burgundy, where you stop at the small village of Chablis—known for making fantastic white wine from the chardonnay grape. Head to the cellar of Pascal Bouchard for a delicious tasting of award-winning wines. Afterward, take a stroll through the town’s streets, lined with old stone buildings that have stood since the Middle Ages.

The tour then meanders through the French countryside towards Vezelay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Journey through the center of the village at your leisure. Admire the grand Basilica of Sainte-Marie-Madeleine, which houses the relics of Mary Magdalene. Set foot inside the building and appreciate its ocher arches and 12th-century Romanesque architecture. Soak up the refreshing country air for a little while longer before heading back to Paris where your tour concludes.

Know before you book: You must be 20 years of age and present a valid photo ID in order to consume alcohol., You will be accompanied by a Japanese-speaking Assistant Guide who can offer interpretation services and some commentary., Tour stops may vary; the winetasting may take place at a different winery in Chablis if Bouchard Cellar is closed., You may arrive back in Paris later than scheduled due to traffic conditions., If there are less than 6 participants on the tour, you may be escorted by a Japanese-speaking driver instead of a Japanese-speaking Assistant Guide., Check-in is 10 minutes prior to the booked tour start time.
