Description:

Discover the little-known, New World wines and charming countryside of Thailand's Asoke Valley on this 2-day tour. See ornate temples and picturesque vineyards, taste lovely local wines, and take a break yourself at a comfortable resort set amid breathtaking natural surroundings.

Day 1
Leave your Bangkok city hotel for the quaint Asoke Valley, an arable microclimate perfect for growing grapes. Hop on your bike at a small, ornate Buddhist temple and ride through the tropical countryside plantations—you could be in France if it weren't for the bunches of bananas and coconut palms.

Stop for a tasting at Khao Yai Winery before indulging in a delicious Thai lunch, accompanied, of course, by a glass of wine. Tour the vineyard and learn about the unique characteristics of Thai soil and the vinification process—this 800-acre (324-ha) estate produces 600,000 bottles a year. Afterward, pedal to your resort—set in a scenic valley framed by limestone mountains, it's the perfect place to kick back and get a good night's sleep.

Day 2
Indulge in a hearty breakfast at the resort, then embark on your second day of adventure as you brave the climb by bike and on foot up to 2 hilltop temples, passing tapioca and sugar cane fields and a rock quarry along the way. Refresh with some juice at the Prapatsorn grape farm before dining on a delicious lunch of regional specialties. Your tour comes to a close with an air-conditioned shuttle back to your Bangkok hotel.
