Description:

At Maui Ocean Center, get a glimpse behind-the-scenes as you meet an Ocean Naturalist who feeds and cares for the animals. You can ask questions, join a supervised feeding session for hammerhead sharks, and you even have an opportunity to touch live sea jellies, sea stars, and sea cucumbers.

Visit the Wet Lab and Animal Holding Area where some of the aquarium's animals, such as green sea turtles, live when they are not on display. Learn more about MOC's turtle program and snap a photo with these marine reptiles. Then, follow the Ocean Naturalist to Hammerhead Harbor to learn what—and how often—sharks eat before you join a supervised feeding of scalloped hammerheads.

Next, head to Turtle Lagoon and help feed green sea turtles while you learn more about sea turtles in Hawaii. Questions are encouraged throughout the tour. Don't miss this chance to get a more in-depth look at Hawaiian marine animals and go to areas of the park most visitors never see.
