Art and wine, a few aspects of island culture, come together in an innovative way on this fascinating tour. Guided by artisan potters, visit vineyards and craft workshops as you sample Balearic wine, create your own vibrant mosaic, and enjoy the harmonious surroundings of a local resident's home.
With the towering Sierra Tramuntana hills in the background, the pretty village of Santa Maria del Cami is in the heartland of Mallorca's vine growing business. Stroll through the idyllic village and out to a nearby vineyard where you learn more about the island's efforts in producing wine and how the topography offers favorable conditions for growing vines.
In the workshop and house of Catina Vich, take a break in the picturesque garden as you try making a Trencadís mosaic—a technique of using ceramic shards to create an image. Drawing heavily on the influence of Gaudi and using colors associated with wine, you create your own memorable work of art. Sample some of the local vintages and indulge in a couple of life's principal luxuries—art and wine.
