Your bus picks you up from the Sunworld Hotel early in the morning, so you can beat the crowds to the less-frequented Mutianyu area of the Great Wall of China. At the Wall, your local guide shares fascinating history and legends about the 2,000-year-old structure. Take your time climbing up and down the steep cobblestone steps while marveling at the view of the verdant, green mountains of Northern China.
Look out at the impressive section of the Wall extending 1.4 miles (2.2 km) ahead and behind you. After you've soaked up the majesty of the Wall, you have 3 options to get back to the bus: Walk back down the old-fashioned way, take advantage of the open-air cable car for a breathtaking birds-eye view, or toboggan down the metal slide for some fast-moving thrills.
