Description:

Escape the crowds of the busy resorts and ride the legendary waves of Famara Beach on the island’s west coast. The rolling breakers on this stretch of golden sand offer the ideal conditions for you to develop your surf skills in the capable hands of a local who knows the area well.

Famara Beach is nestled inside the Natural Park of the Chinijo Archipelago, away from the larger resorts of the south. Bordered on one side by the small coastal village of Caleta de Famara and the Risco peak on the other, this idyllic 2-mile-long (3 km) swath of sand is a little slice of heaven.

Pull on your wetsuit and follow your guide as you paddle out into the waves. The waves here are legendary, and a must-do for any surf aficionado. Pick up tips on improving your technique and enjoy the challenge of riding the rolling swell. With consistent surf and a range of easy to challenging areas, surfers of all levels can find something to suit their ability.
