The wildlife and wonders of the ancient rainforest are yours to explore on this journey into Queensland's World Heritage Wet Tropics. Take in the scenery from a high-flying gondola and a train ride through the hills, and traverse the tropical, tree-shrouded waterways on an amphibious Duck.

Step into a 6-person gondola on the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and embark on a 4.6-mile (7.5-km) ride, skimming the treetops as you glide over the rainforest canopy. Hop off at Red Peak Station, where you can stroll along a boardwalk for an up-close look at the ancient plant life, rustling palms, and giant ferns of the forest floor. Soar over the dramatic cascade of Barron Falls, and disembark to trek to a viewpoint overlooking the breathtaking waterfall.

Take a quick shuttle ride into Kuranda—the village in the rainforest—and spend your morning shopping its colorful markets and lovely galleries and boutiques. There are plenty of other attractions in town, too, including Australia's largest butterfly sanctuary.
