Description:

A full week in the natural wonders of Australia's tropical north gives you a chance to see the diverse and spectacular scenery. From crocodiles leaping out of the water in Kakadu National Park to collections of Aboriginal art, this tour offers a complete look at the area's nature and history.

Day 1:
Once you get settled in at your hotel, you have the day free to explore the city of Darwin and get ready for your adventure.

Day 2:
See the spectacular waterfalls of Litchfield National Park, where you can take a scenic interpretive walk through bush and monsoon vine forest. You can swim in a plunge pool beneath Florence Falls, make your way through forest and open woodland, and visit Tolmer Falls to see the water cascading down to the deep waterhole below.

After another chance to swim when you visit Wangi Falls, and an optional climb that would take you through the rainforest to the top of the falls, head back to Darwin for the evening.

Day 3:
An afternoon tour shows you the sights of Darwin. See the Chinese Temple, the lush Botanical Gardens, and the Stokes Hall wharf area, as well as such historic sites as the East Point Military Precinct, and learn their history from your expert guide. Make sure to explore the permanent collections of Aboriginal art at the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory.

Day 4:
In the morning, head to Kakadu National Park, join the Jumping Crocodile Cruise, and watch your guide entice crocodiles to leap from the water. When you visit the Bowali Visitor Centre, you can buy a spot on an optional 50-minute flight for a view of the park from above.

After a guided walk takes you to see ancient rock art, visit the top of Ubirr for some outstanding views of the area.

Day 5:
A guided walk to Burrunggui, or Nourlangie Rock, lets you see some of the finest Aboriginal rock art in the area. Visit the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre and join a cruise on the famous Yellow Water Billabong before traveling along Pine Creek to the town of Katherine.

Day 6:
A 2-hour breakfast cruise takes you between the sheer rock walls of Katherine Gorge. After a stop at the National Park Information Centre, visit the charming setting of Edith Falls, where you can go for a swim if conditions allow. Visit the Adelaide River War Cemetery before your return to Darwin.

Day 7:
Take some free time to explore Darwin at your own pace.

Day 8:
Your tour comes to an end with a transfer back to the airport.
