Description:

See the diverse collection of waterways, cliffs, and scenery in the Top End's national parks. This 3-day tour takes you from Darwin to the ancient rock faces of Kakadu National Park, the forests of Litchfield National Park, and past the vibrant collection of wildlife in Australia's tropical north.

Day 1:
A drive through the Marrakai Plains brings you deep into Kakadu National Park for the first leg of your tour. Visit Burrunggui, or Nourlangie Rock, to see ancient Aboriginal rock art, stop for lunch at Cooinda, and join your local guide for a cruise on the famous Yellow Water Billabong to see bird life and saltwater crocodiles.

Later, visit the Warradjan Cultural Centre and view the informative displays and exhibits depicting the traditions of the Aboriginal people in Kakadu. You also have time to buy an optional scenic flight that lets you see the landscape from the air.

Day 2:
In the morning, stop for a look at Ubirr, where some of the traditional rock paintings date back for 42,000 years. Join the Guluyambi Cruise, look for saltwater crocodiles along the East Alligator River, and go ashore in Arnhem Land with an Aboriginal guide. Visit the Bowali Visitor Centre before returning to Darwin.

Day 3:
The Stuart Highway takes you from Darwin to Litchfield National Park, where you can take some scenic walks through the bush and monsoon vine forest. See Florence Falls before making your way down to the plunge pool below for a chance to swim at the waterfall's base. Next, visit Tolmer Falls for a magnificent view of the water cascading down to the deep waterhole below.

After another opportunity to go swimming at Wangi Falls, you can try an optional steady climb through the rainforest to the top of the falls and stop for a picnic lunch. Make sure to get some photos of the scenery, including the amazing formations of giant termite mounds, before returning to Darwin as your tour comes to an end.
