Description:

Take in the splendor of Grand Teton National Park on a day-long journey through an area including both Jenny and Jackson lakes, as well as the Colter Bay Indian Arts Museum. Learn about the lives of some of the area's original settlers and take time to spot wildlife in the rugged landscape.

Begin your day with a visit to the Chapel of Transfiguration, a small log chapel with a framed view of the Tetons above the pulpit, followed by a stop at historic Maude Noble's Cabin and the Menor's Ferry area, where you can see how the original settlers at Jackson Hole lived. Then it's off to Jenny Lake for spectacular views of the Tetons, and learning about the area's historic mountain men, including Jim Bridger, John Colter, and Beaver Dick.

Grab lunch at one of the park's lodges before heading to the shores of Jackson Lake in the afternoon. Here you have a chance to check out the Colter Bay Indian Arts Museum, learning about the area's wildlife, geography, and the native tribal history, with handmade clothing and beadwork that rivals the best displays in the country.

As you make your way back to Jackson, stop by Oxbow Bend, where you have a pretty good chance of spotting moose, eagles, beavers, and maybe even a bear.
