Description:

A trip to Istanbul is not complete without experiencing its traditional food, spices, and of course the famous Turkish Delights. Wander through Istanbul markets and the very special Spice Bazaar, where you can sample a variety of local foods, including cheeses and other delightful treats.

Begin your tour at the entrance of the Spice Bazaar, also known as Egyptian Bazaar. Your guide explains the different sections of the market, with its 85 spice shops, souvenirs, jewelry, sweets, and dried fruits and nuts. Try some pastirma – a Turkish dried beef – local cheeses, and a traditional Turkish Delight from the long-established sweet producers.

Continue exploring the vibrant space where your guide carefully selects the delectable snacks for you to enjoy, while explaining its origins while giving you culinary tips. Treats are likely to include a variety of local foods, including halva, olives, fresh nuts, traditional cheeses, and simit bread.

After the market, head over to the Asian side—via ferry. Upon arrival enjoy a scenic stroll along the waterfront, stopping at a local café on the way. Enjoy a tea and Turkish delight, as you learn about the popular Turkish dishes and take in views of the Maiden’s Tower and the Bosphorus.

Return back Eminonu Port by the metro, where your guide leaves you with tips on restaurants and other local treasures.
