Experience the charm of Tasmania's capital, Hobart, and visit its most popular sites, encountering native animals close up at the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, visiting the historic town of Richmond, and dining on the waterfront at the renowned Murres Upper Deck Restaurant.
Your coach trip begins at the Constitution Dock, nestled in the foothills of Mt. Wellington. Marvel at the Georgian sandstone warehouses built to line the dock in the 1830s. Next, stop by the Australian Broadcasting Center buildings to see Hobart's original sandstone railway station. While travelling along the Brooker Highway, drop by at the largest multi-purpose arena in the city, the Derwent Entertainment Center.
Continue your guided tour to the Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, a haven for local native animals, including koalas, quolls, wombats, wallabies, and kangaroos. Learn about the habits and habitats of these native animals as you get warm and attentive with a Tasmanian devil. Later, visit the region's most important historic town, Richmond. Built in the 1820s as a military staging post, this heritage site is open to your exploration and boasts an amazing Georgian-styled bridge, gaol (jail), mansions, and small cottages.
