Description:

Gaze in wonder at the historic temples of Hoa Lu, feel your pulse rise as you cycle through the rural Vietnamese countryside, and breathe in the cool air of ancient caves on the Red River Delta. On foot, by bike or by boat, this full-day tour gives you a truly immersive exploration of Vietnam.

Leaving Hanoi, enjoy the 2-hour ride to the serene Ninh Binh province; catch a glimpse into Vietnam's past at Hoa Lu, the capital of the country in the 10th and 11th centuries. You're led by your guide to the scattered stone ruins of the city’s ancient citadel, as well as the restored Dinh and Le Temples.

Next, strap on a helmet and hop on a bike for a 7.5 mile (12 km) ride through the lush green Vietnamese countryside. Take a break from pedaling to take in the spectacular limestone karsts that tower above the trail.

Refreshed after lunch at a local restaurant, you board a waiting row boat. A guide expertly steers your boat on the rivers that make up Tam Coc, or Three Caves, while passing local villages and lush rice paddies. Feel the crisp air on your skin as the boat follows the calm river and enters the darkness of the caves.

After navigating the river for more than 2 hours, your boat is guided towards the grassy shore. Before you head back to the bustling streets of Hanoi, close your eyes and reflect on a day spent experiencing another side of Vietnam.
