Description:

Embark on a thrilling rafting ride through the twists and turns of the Pigeon River. This adventure never has a dull moment, boasting a course of 12 Class-III and 3 Class-IV whitewater rapids. In the lower part of the river, enjoy scenes of charming sycamore trees in the winding valley.

Strap on a life jacket and prepare to get wet. Listen to a rafting briefing before hopping in and heading downstream. Negotiate the tumultuous torrents and turbulent whitewater rapids of the upper river. With telling names including Too Late, Vegamatic, Razor Blade, After Shave, and Lost Guide, you're sure to encounter some bumpy waves and spectacular splashes during the 5 mile (8 km) course.

As you travel down the river, your guide navigates the obstacles and keeps your journey fun and engaging with information and stories about the wildlife and surroundings. They also provide clear commands, resulting in an exciting and safe trip downriver at exhilarating speeds.

Once you reach the lower river, catch your breath and enjoy the charming surroundings as you gracefully glide over class I & II rapids. The river takes its name from the passenger pigeon, now extinct, whose migration route once included the river valley. The river carves through the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Cherokee National Forest, Martha Sundquist State Forest, and the Appalachian Trail.
