Deemed one of the New 7 Wonders of the World for a reason, the breathtaking Iguassu Falls stretches more than 1.7 miles (2.7 k)—and shares a status with some of the largest falls on the planet. This guided tour ensures a close-up look at this powerful natural phenomenon.

Enjoy a hotel pickup, and board a bus headed for Iguassu Falls National Park. On the way, lose yourself in the lush, passing greenery, and tune in to your guide as you get the lowdown on the environmentally acclaimed area.

Bordering both Argentina and Brazil, this enormous series of falls was believed to be the direct result of a deity-damsel relationship gone sour. Legend has it a god sliced the river in 2—in order to stop his intended wife-to-be from fleeing by canoe with her lover. His anger—condemning the escapees to an eternal fall—carved the spectacular sight on display today.

Upon arrival at the park, embark along the 0.75-mile (1.2-k) walking trail that traces the river’s rushing waters past smaller falls, to the massive formation known as Devil’s Throat. Here, follow the cat walk, out over the river, for a top-down perspective of the thundering spectacle.

True daredevils can temp fate from an even higher vantage point—a tower marking the end of the path promises 360-degree, panoramic views. Continue on the trail up and around the falls, allowing plenty of time to truly take it all in, before returning back to Foz do Iguassu.
