Hop on a train in London and spend the day exploring Edinburgh, learning intriguing cultural heritage in Scotland's capital. See some of the city's most impressive sights—an introductory tour by open-top bus is included—and visit the splendid Edinburgh Castle and Royal Mile.

A representative waits for you at King's Cross Station, checks you in, and escorts you to your reserved seats on the train. Peruse your welcome packet, filled with all the details and information you need, as you enjoy a take a breaking journey through the heart of England and across the border into Scotland.

Arrive before midday, just in time to tour the city in an open-top bus. This is a great way to get your bearings and spot the places you want to explore further. Walk to Waverley Bridge and head to the breathtaking Edinburgh Castle, which dominates the skyline from atop its rocky terrace. Take some time to explore the castle, seeing the Royal Apartments and Scottish Crown Jewels.

Grab lunch in one of the many top restaurants or cafés; then explore more of the city's popular attractions, including the splendid Royal Mile, the Queen's Scottish residence at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, and the famous Greyfriars Bobby monument.

Head back to the train station in time to catch the 5:30 PM train for a nighttime return to London.
