Description:
Take a multi-day journey through the diverse tropical landscape of north Queensland with a 3-day guided tour of the famous Daintree National Park, historic Cooktown, and Australian Outback.
Day 1:
Begin your adventure by ascending Lamb Range for sweeping views over Cairns and beyond. Marvel at giant strangler fig trees along the rainforest boardwalk. After marvelous views at Bob's Lookout, enjoy lunch at Palmer River Roadhouse. Then immerse yourself in the Outback as you head toward Cooktown and the mysterious Black Mountain National Park. Finish up the day with a visit to Archer Point Lighthouse and an overnight stay at the Sovereign Hotel.
Day 2:
After breakfast, enjoy a tour of Cooktown. Then venture up Grassy Hill to a scenic lookout and visit the James Cook Museum. Afterward, travel south toward Cape Tribulation and the Daintree Rainforest, making your way along the Bloomfield Track to scenic spots, including Bloomfield Falls and Cedar Bay National Park. Once you reach Cape Tribulation, stretch your legs on the beach or head up to Kulki Lookout before enjoying your overnight stay in the area.
Day 3:
Set out on your way toward Thornton Beach, adjacent to Queensland's fourth-highest mountain, Thornton Peak. Cross the Daintree River via ferry to the Daintree Tea House for lunch. Afterward, enjoy a cruise on the Daintree River and spot crocodiles and various native birds. Finish with a guided walk at Mossman Gorge before returning to Cairns.
