Description:

Head to the west of Ireland to explore rugged wilderness and engage with Irish heritage in Connemara. With verdant valleys, expansive lakes, and rippling mountains, the region embodies the country's status as the “Emerald Isle.” Finish with a stroll through the charming city of Galway.

Leave Dublin behind and drive through the heart of Ireland's famously charming landscape to Connemara. As your guide explains Gaelic culture and tradition, enter the Inagh Valley and see the Twelve Bens mountain range towering above. Pause at Kylemore Abbey for an idyllic photo and admire the breathtakingly romantic setting on the lake shore. At Maam Cross, marvel at Connemara's gray glassy lakes.

In the summer months (April–October), set off for a cruise on Ireland's only fjord at Killary. Sit back, take a break, and make the most of the waterway views. During the winter months, it's off to a traditional farm to witness the age-old traditions of sheep herding and turf cutting.

Then, in the Galway city center, take a stroll past quaint shops and entertaining street artists, or perhaps choose to take a break at the Spanish Arch. Either way, engage with some of the area's many local legends, including the Claddagh Ring, Lynch's Window, and the 14 tribes. After a day of explorey, take an easy return trip back to Dublin.
