Description:

Spend 6 full days taking in the pristine natural beauty of the South Island, from glacier-blue lakes to soaring mountain peaks. Plenty of leisure time to explore vibrant Christchurch, outdoor adventure-packed Queenstown, and New Zealand’s wine country rounds out this unforgettable journey.

Day 1
Arrive at Christchurch Airport, where you’re greeted and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy some free to explore the town or take a break before dinner at your hotel.

Day 2
Hop aboard an iconic London-style double-decker bus for a sightseeing tour of Christchurch. Learn about the town's history and its recovery from the devastating earthquake in 2011, hearing about efforts to preserve its heritage buildings.

Day 3
On your way to Lake Tekapo, visit the Church of the Good Shepherd. Travel into the Southern Alps toward Mount Cook National Park, the titular home of New Zealand’s tallest mountain. Arrive at Mount Cook Village and stay overnight at the Hermitage Hotel.

Day 4
In the morning, have free time to explore Mount Cook National Park. Later, travel further south across the Lindis Pass. Take in the stunning scenery of Lake Dunstan and the small village of Cromwell on its shores. Arrive in Queenstown—New Zealand's adventure capital—for the night.

Day 5
Visit 2 vineyards for tastings, and then join your guide to tour one of New Zealand’s largest wine cellars and learn about the area’s rich winemaking history. Afterward, sample local cheeses during a presentation at the region’s only cheese factory. At the Gibbston Valley Winery Restaurant, relish a gourmet lunch before a free evening in Queenstown.

Day 6
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before your transfer to the Queenstown Airport.

Should the trip be fully booked on the requested date, you will be provided with an alternate date., Standard accommodations are at the Ibis Hotel Christchurch, the Hermitage Hotel Mount Cook (view room), and the Copthorne Hotel and Resort Queenstown or similar., First class accommodations are at the Novotel Christchurch, the Hermitage Hotel Mount Cook (superior room), and the Millennium Hotel Queenstown or similar., On each day, you will travel with a different driver and guide and a different group of fellow travelers., At least 2 people are required for this activity to take place.
