Description:

Put your snorkel gear on and jump into the clear waters of Julian Rocks Marine Reserve. Swim alongside sea turtles in their habitat in this natural sanctuary. Find out all about this endangered species and admire them as they swim among schools of exotic fish in the colorful reef.

Meet your guide at Byron Bay and take a 5-minute boat ride to Julian Rocks Marine Reserve. During your boat ride, listen as your guide explains about the local preservation programs. Then jump into the clear, shallow water of the reserve and follow your instructor as you snorkel the tranquil waters. Swim with other tropical species found in the Great Barrier Reef, as well as animals from the country's deep Southern Ocean.

Since the calm waters provide optimal conditions for sea turtle viewing, you can take the opportunity to swim right next to these intelligent creatures. In addition, you can see an assortment of rays, hard and soft corals, attentive wobbegong sharks, and over 400 different species of fish.
