Description:

Ride into an evening of spooky sightseeing as you cruise the old streets of Austin after the sun goes down. From a Segway, hear chilling stories about the city’s past from an experienced guide who knows the favorite haunts of local ghosts, and see flying creatures of the night—bats.

Gather your courage and head into the shadows of downtown. At the Texas Capitol Building, see the illuminated features of this grand edifice and enjoy cruising beneath the gnarled branches of the trees spread out over the grounds.

Continue on to the Driskill Hotel, said to be inhabited by the wandering spirit of Colonel Driskill—the wealthy cattleman who built the lavish accommodations in 1886. Nearby, stop off at a speakeasy where they serve up classic cocktails and eerie encounters with phantom patrons.

At the bridge spanning Lady Bird Lake, jump off your gliding ride and take some time to scan the air for busy bats diving down to gobble up a dinner of fresh bugs. Leave the bridge and head toward the lights and activity of 6th Street, where the melodies from live musicians leak out of bars and onto the bustling sidewalks.

Wrap up the evening as you coast by Austin’s Moonlight Towers, raised lights that illuminate large areas of the city. These curious structures were once common sights across the country, but are now only found in Austin. Bask in their glow before heading back your starting point.
