Description:
Explore the extraordinary landscape of the Outback as a 3-day tour takes you to some of the most incredible sites in central Australia. See the colors of sunset on the rock face of Uluru, visit the sandstone domes at Kings Canyon, and explore what makes the Red Centre an amazing place to visit.
Day 1:
After your ride from Alice Springs to Ayers Rock Resort, your first afternoon on the tour takes you to the 36 domed sandstone outcrops of Kata Tjuta. Next, take the walking trail through Walpa Gorge and follow the natural creek between two of Kata Tjuta's tallest domes. As the sun nears the horizon, visit the Uluru sunset viewing area to see the colors of evening cast the immense stone of Uluru in a stunning light.
Day 2:
Start the morning with a visit to the Talinguru Nyakunytjaku viewing area for a great view of Uluru at sunrise. Once you've seen the light of daybreak across the Red Centre, join your guide for a tour around the base of Uluru.
Next, venture out to the charming Mutitjulu Waterhole, where you can view Aboriginal rock paintings and native flora as you learn about the area, and then visit the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre to learn about Aboriginal culture, arts, and crafts. Return to Ayers Rock Resort ahead of your ride to Kings Canyon in the afternoon.
Day 3:
Start the day exploring the sights of Kings Canyon. Depending on the level of activity you're up for, you can choose to climb to the canyon rim for some spectacular views of Watarrka National Park or take an easier walk along the boulder-strewn canyon floor. Your tour ends in the afternoon with a ride back to Alice Springs.
