Say the words “old money,” and most people will either think of wealth that was inherited generations ago (if you’re American) or centuries ago (if you’re European). In fact, whether you’re a Rockefeller or a Rothschild, being of “old money” whispers, rather than screams, affluence.

Few people, however, think of the ancient Omani custom of trading in frankincense. Two millennia before oil was discovered in the Middle Eastern country, frankincense was Oman’s main source of wealth. This aromatic resin (also called olibanum) comes from sacred trees that are almost impossible to grow outside of the Arabian Peninsula. By Jesus’ time, it was more valuable than gold, hence the wise men arriving at the manger bearing it as a gift.

Whispering luxury is second nature to Silversea. This smooth, elegant, cocktail is a perfect example of how we respect heritage but add a twist. A signature tropical Daiquiri with Arabian flourishes, this Old Money cocktail is inspired by the coconut fringed beaches of Salalah and the golden palaces of Muscat. Bursting with Eastern promise, we think it is o-man-god good!
