Undoubtedly the pearl of the South Pacific, Bora Bora conjures up images of sapphire waters, golden sands and romance a go-go. Just try saying the words – Bora Bora – and you are already lounging on the beach, cocktail in hand.

However, the Tahitian alphabet contains only 13 letters, none of which are the letter ‘b’. Early visitors misheard the pronunciation of the island as ‘Bora Bora,’ when in fact it was called Pora Pora. Pora Pora means ‘first born’ and refers to a legend which says that Ta’aroa, the creator of the universe, created this island immediately after Raiatea (the “parent” isle).

So, back to that thirst-quenching cocktail we were talking about. We’ve created a signature drink based around the Daiquiri using guava and coconut water to add a taste of the tropics. Sauvignon Blanc brings citrus and tropical fruit notes while Grey Goose La Poire reflects the taste and freshness of an anjou pear — a classic flavor of French cuisine — and gives this vodka a crisp and smooth taste. Bring a little bit of Polynesia to your evenings with our lovely First Born!
