If you’re a tea drinker, your favorite cuppa may well have come from the undulating highlands of Sri Lanka. Tea is the national drink of Sri Lanka, and coupled with some of the island’s other prized crops, our signature iced tea based cocktail is something special.

This recipe is a veritable sample of the Teardrop Isle’s best picks. For centuries, Sri Lanka cinnamon has been renowned the world over for its intoxicating fragrance. The lush hills of Ceylon’s tea plantations are one of the country’s most spectacular and memorable sights. Bananas grow freely all year round in Sri Lankan orchards and home gardens, producing varieties that come in a kaleidoscope of sizes, taste and colors.

Like acrobats in the sky, toddy tappers tightrope from tree to tree to collect coconut sap which is then lovingly refined and nurtured to produce Sri Lanka’s national spirit: Ceylon arrack. Enjoy the rich pickings of Sri Lanka’s bounty in one refreshing cocktail.
